Whitewood/John Thomas Furniture

Whitewood Industries, John Thomas Furniture’s parent company, was founded in 1982 as a manufacturer of solid wood, ready-to-finish furniture. As a 30+-year-old company, they’ve evolved greatly into becoming a leading supplier of both finished and unfinished furniture throughout the U.S.

They proudly transitioned to an Employee Owned Company in 2017. They are based in Thomasville, NC (a neighboring city to High Point, NC, the city known and widely recognized as being ‘the Furniture Capital of the World’) where they employ over 300+ dedicated North Carolina craftsmen.

Today, there are four divisions under the company brand: Whitewood Ready-To-Finish (unfinished furniture), John Thomas Furniture (casual dining and custom finish programs), International Concepts (a supplier to specialty retailers), and Custom Contract Furnishings (designer/manufacturer contract upholstery).

With this, they’ve kept one thing intact, one mission… Offer the most beautiful, quality home furnishings at a tremendous value. They hope you’ll choose John Thomas Furniture to be your next home furnishings. They appreciate your confidence and trust and will consider it an honor to become a part of your home.

They believe in and are inherently committed to, offering the most beautiful, long-lasting, affordable home furnishings. Their product is made entirely of Parawood, which is part of the maple family. It is valued for its dense grain, minimal shrinkage, attractive light color, and ease of finishing. It is also prized as an “environmentally friendly” wood, as it makes use of plantation-grown trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing cycle.
